Derek has had a general practice for over 17 years in North Georgia with a focus on real estate cases, landlord/tenant, construction, debt collection, probate, and finance. He has been recognized by the courts as an expert in real estate law and has been appointed as a special master in multiple cases ranging from simple quiet title matters to cases involving international laws. Derek has served as general counsel to multiple financial institutions and has now shifted my focus to personal injury and insurance law. Mr. Poarch is a member of the Georgia Bar and the Federal District Court of the Northern District of Georgia Bar. On May 13, 2001, he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of Liberal Arts at Mercer University where he majored in Political Science; minored in Sociology, Communication and Theater Arts, and Business Administration; and completed the Great Books program. On May 8, 2004, he received a Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University where he also completed the Legal Writing Program. In his life outside of the office, Derek is married and has two children. In his free time, he likes to play golf, tennis, and pickleball.
