Mike Hostilo Law Firm’s Georgia Summer Book Bag Drive

The Mike Hostilo Law Firm gives back this summer with its annual Back to School Book Bag Drive.

We know that that this last year has been hard on everyone and with kids returning to school all over the state of Georgia, we wanted to make sure we were there to make it a little easier for everyone. How, you ask exactly? By hosting four GIANT book bag giveaways across the state of Georgia, that’s how! Keep reading to see how the Mike Hostilo Law Firm showed up and helped out across Georgia!

Macon, GA

We kicked off the 2021 Mike Hostilo Book Bag Drive Tour at our Spring St. office in the heart of Macon on Friday, July 9. The office jumped into action, as we distributed school supplies and book bags to everyone that showed up. It was so great to see kids of all ages in line and our Macon team did not disappoint, handing out bags to everyone in attendance! Channel 24- WGXA and Channel 41-WMGT news were on hand to capture footage and interview our Macon Market Attorney, Alex Fadoul. But our mission wasn’t finished just yet. As the drive wrapped up at our Macon office, our team members journeyed to the Rosa Jackson Recreation Center to hand out an additional 75 bookbags to the kids there on their final day of summer camp. Then the following week, we were able to donate the remaining book bags to the Power of Life Foundation. The Power of Life Foundation is a non-profit organization, created to assist underserved populations with resources such as housing, utilities, food and more.

Columbus, GA

The Mike Hostilo Book Bag Giveaway rolled into Columbus, GA next ready to help and spread some cheer! The Mike Hostilo Law Firm’s Columbus team hosted the Book Bag Drive on Wednesday, July 14th at the Golden Park Stadium. The stadium was completely redesigned in 1996 and hosted the Women’s Fastpitch Softball competition during the summer Olympics that year. The stadium is now home to the Columbus Chatt-A-Hoots, Columbus’ own minor league baseball team. We were so grateful to both the Columbus Chatt-A-Hoots and Impact Performance for partnering with us to give away a significant amount of book bags, school supplies, and tickets to the home baseball game that evening. It was great to see the families of Columbus and Phenix City show up and not only get ready for back-to-school but spend an evening at the ballpark.

Augusta, GA

Our third stop on the Mike Hostilo Law Firm’s 2021 Book Bag Giveaway had us rolling into Augusta, GA, and partnering with the Augusta Boxing Club for their 3rd annual Knock Out the Need Drive. We spared no punches as we gave away around 350 bags to the communities of Augusta, GA, and Aiken, SC. In addition to our partnership, many other local businesses showed up and showed out to help the kids return to school. It was so great to help out alongside, Rich Kangz Entertainment,. Lanier’s Fresh Meat Market, FPL Food LLC, Police & Firemen’s Insurance AssociationPromatexDavis Appliance & FurnitureAugusta Medical Associates. We could not have filled all the book bags with supplies without the help of Security Federal Bank. A major thank you goes to Tiffany, Event Coordinator and Rayonta, Owner of the Augusta Boxing Club for the continual collaboration and genuine comradery. We could not do what we do without you!

Savannah, GA

The Mike Hostilo Law Firm’s 2021 Book Bag Giveaway made its final stop in Georgia, in our very own hometown of Savannah! The hottest day of the Summer for 2021 couldn’t keep us down as the Mike Hostilo team took to the pavement of the Abercorn office for a phenomenal day of giving back on Friday, July 30. With The Blood Connection (lead by Maria Sowell, one of our former clients) on site for anyone who wants to give back and donate blood, Dark Shark Taco on deck serving up their fried peaches and honey-drizzled hush puppies and haircuts to the community from Phat Heads Barbershop, it was a day full of fun and service. The Savannah team gave away almost 400 book bags to the local community! DJ Rax from E93 Radio even stopped by and helped pack a few supplies along with WTOC-TV who weathered the sun to capture the fun.

In total, the Mike Hostilo Law Firm gave away nearly 1,800 book bags to local communities across Georgia. But the fun wasn’t done yet. The book bag tour had one more stop to make this summer…and we were heading straight to Charleston, South Carolina! Stay tuned for what happens next!
