As a young girl growing up in New Jersey, Stephanie would pack up her school supplies in a makeshift briefcase and walk into school every day with determination – and a dream. She aspired to one day defend the wronged and secure justice on their behalf. Back in elementary school, Stephanie thought her career would look like an episode of Law and Order, with her starring as a prosecutor and fighting crime.

Throughout high school and college, Stephanie shifted her focus to making change on a broader level. She considered working in politics and decided that pushing proactive legislation was her calling. She was very convinced, after working in urban development programs and volunteering as part of the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief team, that the only way to put her knowledge and education to good use was to work toward changing government systems and programs.

After college, Stephanie attended law school in Virginia – but remained unsure whether she would specialize in drafting legislation or work toward becoming a prosecutor. She excelled in business law classes, which encouraged her to pursue personal and business taxation, and setting up wills, trusts and estates. While attending law school, Stephanie completed various projects and committed to extracurricular activities to hone her skills. She was also a member of the mock trial team for two consecutive years.

Stephanie worked with one of her professors as a research assistant, and helped develop suggestions for a new standard of evidence in child sexual abuse cases. One particularly rewarding part of her role was drafting wills and travel authorizations pro bono for charity workers headed to foreign countries to administer food and aid. After law school, Stephanie passed both the New York and New Jersey bar exams.

She then began working in a general practice, where she gained valuable experience in criminal defense work and family law, and began her first foray into personal injury law. She quickly realized that she had found a new calling: getting justice for the injured and making sure they received the compensation they deserved.

After practicing law in New Jersey as a managing partner at a small firm, Attorney Stephanie Miller and her husband relocated to beautiful Savannah, Georgia. She started her job at The Mike Hostilo Law Firm as a case manager while studying for the Georgia bar exam.

This position gave Stephanie a unique perspective on clients’ needs during the course of their case – which better equipped her to train her team, ensuring they deliver the highest quality service and care. She passed the Georgia Bar in 2014, and has been negotiating insurance claims for her clients ever since.
